HUNTSVILLE---The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team and first-year head coach Donnie Marsh released its 31-game schedule for the 2017-18 season Thursday morning. The schedule includes 18 Southwestern Athletic Conference games and 13 contests against non-conference opponents from ten different states.

"We have put together a very challenging non-conference schedule that is designed to get us ready to compete at a very high level once we get to SWAC play," Marsh notes. "Our guys will benefit from the competition and exposure that will come along with playing those high level teams."

The Bulldogs kick off the season on the road against Ohio University on Nov. 11 before returning for in-state play against Samford on Nov. 13 and the University of Alabama on Nov. 17. Following the in-state contests, AAMU will travel to Minneapolis, MN to face Minnesota on Nov. 21.

The Bulldogs will compete in the Barclays Center Classic where they will take on host Niagara University on Nov. 24, before facing either Western Carolina or UT Arlington on Nov. 25.

The squad's home opener at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium will take place on Nov. 29 with a match up against Georgia State. After road contests at Austin Peay (Dec. 2) and DePaul (Dec.11), the Bulldogs will return home to host Southern Mississippi on Dec. 13.

They will finish the non-conference slate with three road games beginning with a trip to UAB on Dec. 16 before facing Michigan (Dec. 21) and Georgetown (Dec. 23).

AAMU opens it's 18-game SWAC slate with road games against Grambling State (Jan. 1) and Jackson State (Jan. 3). The Bulldogs will face each league team twice in the double round-robin slate, with its final home game wrapping up the regular season on Mar. 3 against Jackson State. The SWAC Men's Basketball tournament will be held Mar. 6-11.
