Madinah Abdullah, Natalie Rodriguez, and Clarissa Moore were named to the first ever COBRA Magazine All-National Team. Abdullah and Rodriguez were second team selections, while Moore received third team accolades. COBRA Magazine is an internet volleyball publication that is read in 10 different nations including, Slovakia, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey and Czech Republic.

BIRMINGHAM - The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All-Conference Volleyball teams Friday with Rose Corneille garnering Defensive Player of the Year honors and Clarissa Moore receiving Freshman of the Year accolades. Natalie Rodriguez also claimed all-SWAC honors. The teams were voted on by the schools’ coaches and sports information departments.

BIRMINGHAM – The bracket and seeds are officially set for the 2009 SWAC Volleyball Championship this weekend November 21-22 in Grambling, LA. The top four finishers from the Eastern and Western divisions will travel to the campus of Grambling State University to contend for the 2009 SWAC Volleyball title.

Box Score / The Bulldog streak reached 10 as they swept Mississippi Valley in three straight sets on Thursday night. With the win, A&M finishes a perfect 8-0 in conference play and 18-11 overall. The team will travel to Grambling, La. to play in the SWAC tournament beginning Nov. 20.

Clarissa Moore compiled 25 kills, 12 digs, and five blocks as her Bulldogs registered two divisional wins last week over Jackson State and Alabama State. This is Moore’s fifth Newcomer of the Week honor this season and third consecutive week. A&M continues to ride a nine game win streak.
