Katrich Williams led the Alabama A&M women’s basketball team with 22 points in the 57-55 road victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday Feb. 6. Williams went 6-for-9 from the field, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Nadra Robertson and Whiquitta Tobar chipped in with seven points each. With the win, A&M is 6-4 in SWAC play. The Bulldogs are back in action on Monday Feb. 8 at Mississippi Valley beginning at 5:30 p.m.

ALCORN STATE, Miss. - Box Score / Alabama A&M dug itself a huge first half hole Monday at Alcorn State and never recovered as the Braves handed the Bulldogs their second straight loss, 59-45. A&M committed 22 first half turnovers and scored just 16 points as Alcorn built a 29-16 halftime lead. The lead never slipped below double digits for the remainder of the game.

Whiquitta Tobar had 14 points and pulled down eight boards in 25 minutes of action. NaDra Robertson chipped in with nine points in nine minutes. The Bulldogs are back in action on Mon. Jan. 25 when they face Alcorn State beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Katrich Williams has been named the Heritage Sports Radio Network National Player of the Week. Williams finished with 1,610 overall votes. Most recently, the Chattanooga native recorded her 1,000th career point against Mississippi Valley, and also helped the Bulldogs to a 60-50 victory over Alabama State this past weekend. She currently has 1,050 points in her career.

The Chattanooga, Tenn. native recorded 24 points with two rebounds, one assist and five steals in the win over the Hornets last Saturday. Williams has led or tied for the team-high in points for A&M in all but one game this season, and is tied with a SWAC-high six 20+ point games this season.

Nadra Robertson also had a career-high night – just a basket shy of her first career double-double – with eight points, 10 boards, and five blocks in 21 minutes of action. The victory also marks head coach Altherias Warmley’s 100th career win.The Bulldogs are back in action on Sat. Jan. 16 when it travels to Motgomery, Ala. to face in-state SWAC rival Alabama State. The game is slated to start at 3 p.m.
