NASHVILLE, TN - Alabama A&M's men's and women's tennis teams opened their 2010 campaign over the weekend at Lipscomb, and despite each team falling to the Bisons, head coach Thomas Colvin saw some bright spots for this early in the season. The Bulldogs dropped the women's match, 6-1 and the men's 7-0 Saturday evening.

On a chilly Sunday afternoon at the Charger tennis courts, Alabama A&M's women's tennis squad got the best of the UAH Chargers 7-2.  The men's action saw the Chargers sweep past the Bulldogs 9-0.

Alabama A&M traveled to the Atlanta area Friday to face a tough foe in Kennesaw State, and it was the Owls that posted a 7-0 win over the Bulldogs. The number 1 doubles team of Greg Rogers and Evan Brown managed to win two games and the number 2 doubles team of Stevon Walker and Johnnie Singleton got one.

The men’s tennis team put forth a much better effort on Saturday than they did the previous week; however, the Hornets of Alabama State had just enough to pull out the win, 4-1. Both teams were limited with only 5 players and with the Bulldogs having lost at #1 doubles, it was up to the #2 doubles team of Stevon Walker and Johnnie Singleton to come from behind to keep from losing the doubles point.
