MURFREESBORO, TN - Results / Alabama A&M had one of its better indoor track and field team performances Saturday at the Middle Tennessee State Invitational since the program was reinstated last year. On the men's side, the day was highlighted by Sterling Jewel's second place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 45-1 1/2 feet, which topped his seeding distance by over two feet. Photo Gallery / Alabama A&M head track and field and cross country coach Kim Seals is using her skills to help promote wellness and healthful living to youth in Huntsville. Seals volunteered her time to work with Dynamic Performance Physical Therapy and Dr. David Peterson to help teach kids about physical activity and making good choices as it relates to wellness. Seals, who won a bronze medal in the 1986 Summer Olympics in track and field, has made this a family commitment as well. Complete Results Both Alabama A&M track and field teams finished their seasons Sunday at the final day of the SWAC Championships in Houston, Texas. Both the men's and women's teams placed ninth in the conference with the individual highlights coming from Nathan Stepens' second place finish in the decathlon, and Lucas Krueger's second place mark in the pole vault. After a two season absence from the indoor track and field scene, Alabama A&M will open its men's and women's indoor track and field season Sunday at the Ed Temple Relays, hosted by Tennessee State University. The Bulldogs will participate in three indoor events in the 2009 season, including the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships.
