BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB) junior midfielder Silvia Fuentes earned SWAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Alabama A&M (AAMU) junior Celeste Roberts was named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week. Arkansas-Pine Buff's Bre-Ann Laypoole was tabbed SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Fuentes (M, 5-6, Jr., Moreno Valley, California) registered two shots on goals for the Lady Lions in its season opener against Sun Belt Conference opponent Arkansas State.

Roberts (F, 5-7, Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the All-Tournament team at the Racer Classic. She scored her first goal of the season against Southeast Missouri State and was a key member on defense in AAMU's 1-0 overtime loss to Murray State.

Laypoole (GK, 5-10, Sr., Marion, Ind.) totaled seven saves and 96:19 minutes in UAPB's 1-0 overtime loss to Arkansas State on Aug. 27.

•Erika Forbes (M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff) - Was a key leader in the UAPB defense against Arkansas State
•Shelby Wilcocks (GK, Mississippi Valley State) - Posted 10 saves in a loss to Southern Miss

The SWAC continues early-season play with another heavy schedule this week. 14 non-conference matches are scheduled over the next five days, beginning with Grambling State's home opener against Louisiana Tech tomorrow.
