Both Track Teams Finish 9th at SWAC

Stephens and Krueger Highlight SWAC Track Results

Both Alabama A&M track and field teams finished their seasons Sunday at the final day of the SWAC Championships in Houston, Texas. Both the men's and women's teams placed ninth in the conference with the individual highlights coming from Nathan Stepens' second place finish in the decathlon, and Lucas Krueger's second place mark in the pole vault.  Simone Wray provided the highest women's individual finish, a fourth place time in the 3000 meter Steeplechase.

Stephens and Krueger each earned eight team points for the Bulldogs.  Stephens finished the 10-event decathlon with 5713 points after winning the 1500 meter decathlon event and finishing second in the javelin and shot put events for the decathlon.  Krueger cleared 11 feet, 7.75 inches in the pole vault for his runner-up finish.

Wray ran a time of 13:25.00 to finish in fourth place in the Steeplechase and gather five team points for the Bulldogs.  Ciera Jackson's fifth-place finish in the heptathlon gave A&M four team points.
