Don't blame Alabama A&M head coach Jeff McCorvey if he feels confident entering this weekend's SWAC Spring Roundup, hosted by Mississippi Valley State in Greenwood, Miss. The Bulldogs swept to a 12-0 record at the fall version of the league get-together, and enter this weekend with a No. 9 national ranking. That spot is one place higher than the Bulldogs held entering the semester break. Overall, A&M stands at 29-8 on the season and owns head-to-head victories against the two teams that have battled for the top national ranking all year, Nebraska and Vanderbilt. The closest SWAC competitor in the national rankings is Jackson State at No. 12. Southern is the only other SWAC team ranked, holding No. 13.
